Airdrop to Mobile

Suppose you’re working with a friend or colleague who isn’t running DEVONthink on her Mac (heaven forbid!). But they have a file you need and you have your iOS mobile device running DEVONthink To Go. Is there any way to get it transferred quickly and easily?

You can transfer a file from a Mac to DEVONthink To Go via AirDrop. In the Finder, right-click a PDF and choose Share > AirDrop. Choose the mobile device. On the mobile device you will be prompted to choose from a list of applications supporting that filetype, including DEVONthink To Go. Be aware the applications listed will depend on the type of file you’re sending.

Note: You will need to have your iOS Settings > General > AirDrop set to Everyone, unless the person is in your contacts. If they’re not, you can temporarily set it to Everyone, then back to Contacts Only afterwards.
