DEVONthink 3.7
Spring has finally arrived in Europe and so here’s our first major spring release: DEVONthink for Mac 3.7. It fully embraces Markdown editing on the Mac with WYSIWYG editing, file transclusion, and more. While editing your Markdown, you will now see bold characters embolden, italics italicize, etc. directly in the source. Immediately see quotes, code blocks, and links while typing. This includes support for Roam, Obsidian, and iA Writer syntax.
DEVONthink 3.7 also supports transclusion, allowing the display of another Markdown, plain text, or HTML document’s content in a Markdown document. Insert text blocks dynamically into every document and edit them separately and for all your documents at once. Search certain MultiMarkdown metadata types and use them with smart rules, batch processing, and automatic tag assignment.
Among the other changes, the Sorter has new keyboard shortcuts. The autocompletion of automatic WikiLinks using square brackets searches an item’s complete name now. Use automatic WikiLinks also in the Annotations inspector. We have improved handling and deleting RSS articles as well as the maintenance routines that allow for some more valid types of zero-byte (empty) files. On the sync side we made some changes to reduce issues with Bonjour timeouts. And for the AppleScripters among you, we added some new commands, including one to automate summarizing document highlights.
You can find a complete list of all improvements by choosing Help > Release Notes inside the application. We recommend this free update to all users of DEVONthink 3. Get it by using the application’s update function or from our Download page.
