DEVONthink 3.9.8
Today’s maintenance release of DEVONthink brings a few new items as well as many improvements and fixes. For example, to more easily search for documents, you can now use document
or doc
with a kind:
search. We have also extended and improved the search syntax, adding, e.g., time components with relative dates, and more operators support numerical ranges.
For Markdown users, we have addressed some performance issues, especially with WYSIWYG editing, and added a context menu command to jump to linked images in your databases. The Document > Attachments inspector also supports Markdown image links, the Document > Links inspector includes the actual document name with the location if necessary. If you are using formatted notes or web documents, many editing options like spellchecking work there now, too. Contextual menus used in documents are now organized more consistently across file formats.
Other improvement include many small visual improvements on macOS Sequoia, support for item links with section parameters that allow anchors and IDs, and an improved conversion from PDF to Markdown. DEVONthink 3.9.8 also accepts files dropped from other devices via Universal Control and the Extras sidebar gets a context menu. The synchronization works more efficiently, avoiding unnecessary actions.
