A Note About Snow Leopard
Today Apple announced the availability of Mac OS X 10.6 ‘Snow Leopard’ for August 28. We have already received a lot of questions regarding compatibility of our applications to the new release of the operating system. So here’s our statement:
We are going to support Snow Leopard as soon as we possibly can and we’re already working on it of course. We may release a new build of DEVONthink before Snow Leopard ships but more likely in September. We have encountered a few glitches so far (e.g. that you cannot re-install the “Inbox in file save dialogs” due to changes in the Finder) but no serious issues that render the application unusable. The same is true for DEVONagent.
While DEVONthink 2.x will support 64 bit mode, 2.0 will not. DEVONthink is heavily optimized for performance and so there are more than a few lines to check before we can throw the switch. We will do these optimizations unhurriedly when 2.0 is final.
