More on Scotsman Cycling for ALD Center in Aberdeen
In summer 2013 we supported Fred Sarran’s great fundraising initiative Cycling for ALD (Adults with a Learning Disability). Fred cycled 450 miles in eleven days all around Scotland in support of the donations for Balnagask Court Arts, Crafts and Activities.
Balnagask Court in Torry, Aberdeen, is a complex for adults with learning disabilities (ALD) and mental health issues. From Fred’s homepage: “Their aim is to enrich the lives of their service users by promoting social inclusion by means of outings and activities: arts and crafts can be therapeutic, fun and encourage both, team and confidence building. Music is a universal language that we all understand thus enhancing the social aspect of their lives.”
Fred’s trip was fully self-financed and all donations went straight to Balnagask Court.
