All inclusive: Emails, Scans, Web Server

What are these guys doing all the time, you may think? Just sitting on the balcony, drinking way to much tea, and shooting photos like the one below? W-R-O-N-G! We have been working really hard to bring you new, exciting things! What about this one: We have just sent the very first copy of DEVONthink Pro Office to our faithful team of beta testers — May the Preventer of System Crashes be with them! Based on DEVONthink Pro, it comes with a number of useful additions for your everyday work:

• Professional email archiving
• Paper capture for flatbed scanners
• Integrated optical character recognition (OCR)
• Special support for the Fujitsu ScanSnap
• Integrated web server for searching (“My private little Google” ;-))

With these extensions, you can archive your emails and all your paper documents in DEVONthink and let your family or colleagues search for them using a simple web browser. Even your PC friends are invited! We have licensed the I.R.I.S. OCR engine for it so that you can turn your scans into searchable, useful documents. DEVONthink Pro Office is what they hand in mind when they invented the term paperless office!

After the non-public beta test we will publish a public beta release of DEVONthink Pro Office. Then, we will also have fixed the pricing. Just this: we will, of course, have good upgrade offers for all of you who are already DEVONthink Pro users. Everything else would not be our style. So, enough said.
