Re-enable the Mail Plugin on macOS Mojave
Today is macOS Mojave day. And while DEVONthink 2.10.1 is working fine on Apple’s latest incarnation of the Mac operating system, the new security measures do interfere with DEVONthink Pro Office’s Mail plugin. Mojave wants to know that you trust our plugin and have the intent to run it. To (re)enable the Mail plugin please follow these steps:
- Enable full disk access in System Preferences > Security & Privacy for DEVONthink Pro Office.
- Install the Mail plugin.
- Enable the plugin in Apple Mail with Mail > Preferences > General > Manage Plug-ins. The DEVONthink plugin is named “DEVONthink.mailbundle”.
And voilà, the additional commands for archiving messages and mailboxes are back.
P.S. We have updated the Mail plugin numerous times since OS X Snow Leopard but, luckily, we were not forced to rewrite it competely. That’s why it still has “Snow Leopard” in its name. Now that it’s visible to the public we’ll name it a bit more friendly with one of the next releases.
P.P.S. The next update for DEVONthink Pro Office will be able to install the plugin without that you have to manually grant it full disk access. You’ll only need to enable the plugin manually should you need to reinstall it.
