Using Custom Metadata

Each digital document has metadata, i.e., information about this document. Typically, this is the name of the document, the kind, the size, and so on. In addition to this predefined metadata, DEVONthink also offers custom metadata for users of the Pro and Server editions. You can define this metadata yourself and customize it to suit your needs. For example, add bibliographic metadata such as author, publisher, or DOI to the titles in your library or mark documents with a Done checkbox.

To show you where to find the custom metadata and how to define it, we created a tutorial for you. Select Help > Tutorials in the menu of DEVONthink to access it.
