How to Access Your Last Destination

Like in any work environment, your objects in DEVONthink change location from time to time. You move documents around, create new groups, capture and store web content, and so on. So that you can directly continue working, there is a command that takes you to your last destination in DEVONthink.

Select Go > To Group “…” from the menu in DEVONthink or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘L. This command takes you to the last destination you used for an action in DEVONthink and adjusts dynamically. This includes, for example, when you move, classify, duplicate, or replicate a document. Please note this jumps to a location, not an item.

Here are a few scenarios where you may want to jump to a recently used location in your databases:

  • You clipped some content with our browser extension, then decide you want to read it more thoroughly and possibly highlight it.
  • You composed and saved a note from the Sorter, then switch to DEVONthink and want to continue working with it.
  • You imported an email from Apple Mail via the application script Add message(s) to DEVONthink.
  • You just moved the selected document via the See Also & Classify inspector and it thus disappears from the current view.
  • You duplicated or replicated an item via the Data or context menu but now you want to look at the other items at the destination.
