If you’re an Apple Notes user but would like to move completely to DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go now, this update is for you. DEVONthink 2.9.9 adds an option for importing notes and attachments from Apple Notes. It honors the folder structure in Apple Notes and uses formatted notes to preserve formatting in a future-proof format. (mehr)
DEVONthink To Go 2.0.7 has passed Apple’s review just in time for the Christmas break. The new version adds support for 3D Touch and page links for PDFs. Version 2.0.7 also presents the results of an in-PDF search nicer and handles global searches for words containing non-alphanumeric characters better. Audio continues to play when you switch to another app. Finally, the app icon badge now shows only the number of unread items in the global inbox. (mehr)
Markdown is a brilliant way to unobstrusively add basic formatting to plain text files so that the result is readable to both humans and machines. DEVONthink 2.9.8 revamps its Media preferences and adds a new option that lets you choose how you want to open Markdown files, in “pure” editing mode or as graphically pleasing HTML. (mehr)
DEVONthink To Go 2.0.6 is waiting for Apple’s App Store review with improvements and many important bug fixes. This maintenance release saves changes to documents every 60 seconds. It also saves them every time you leave the app, e.g., for an incoming call. (mehr)
macOS Sierra 10.12.2 will soon be knocking at the door. DEVONthink 2.9.7, which we have released today, addresses further PDF issues related to Sierra (but does not fix them all; they’re just too many). (mehr)
DEVONthink 2.9.6, which we have just released, brings another bunch of workarounds for issues related to macOS Sierra’s broken PDF engine and scanner support. Both DEVONthink and DEVONnote also add new conditions to smart groups and honor metadata provided by ELO Office. The sharing extension for DEVONthink supports images, e.g., from web browsers, and uses less energy. (mehr)
Two weeks ago we have updated DEVONthink for macOS Sierra and DEVONthink To Go for iOS 10; this week it’s DEVONagent’s turn with a maintenance update.
Version 3.9.5 of all editions of DEVONagent received fixes for minor issues with Apple’s latest desktop operating system. In addition they now support the privacy-minded search engine Qwant and search Google Scholar better. As always we’re thrown a lot more into the basket, from more accurate ad filtering to updated scanner plugins and better interoperability with other applications. (mehr)
As with most major operating system releases, macOS Sierra and iOS 10 bring not only new features but also many under-the-hood changes. We have just released updates for all editions of DEVONthink as well as for DEVONnote and DEVONthink To Go. (mehr)
Version 2.0.2 of DEVONthink To Go which became available yesterday unveiled an issue that unfortunately didn’t surface even in our beta tests. In some situations it’s currently not possible to synchronize due to ‘pending files’. We have immediately sent a bug-fix release to Apple which is now waiting for Apple’s App Store review. (mehr)
We know how important a robust sync is. And so here’s another maintenance release for both DEVONthink for Mac as well as DEVONthink To Go. We’ve made synchronizing to e.g. WebDAV or Dropbox up to 3.7 times faster. Direct connections via the local network are more reliable now too and during a sync you can see which database is being synchronized. (mehr)
