It’s update season here at DEVONtechnologies — and you shouldn’t miss it! We have added new functionality and eye candy, made all apps faster and more reliable, and, of course, fixed dozens of bugs and glitches. And we have added a brand new freeware app: Grid!
While we are working hard on behind-the-scene changes for a totally new sync technology that will soon do away with the current problems we have released two other new features this weekend for DEVONthink To Go: a brand new PDF viewer and a new rich text editor that allows you to use formatted text on your iPad or iPhone. This makes it now possible to view even very large PDF documents including scans on your device without making the app quit due to memory limitations and to edit formatted text, something iOS does not yet offer itself like OS X does. Of course, DEVONthink To Go 1.2.1 fixes a large number of bugs, too, and is fully compatible to iOS 5.
After ironing out the compatibility issues with OS X 10.7 Lion we have now finally added the new window full screen mode, Quick Look support for attachments to rich text documents, and much more. Definitely a recommended update, and it’s free.
We have just released a first update for DEVONagent Pro 3.0 that brings support for OS X Lion’s fullscreen mode as well as many other improvements and bug fixes. Update your copy with the built-in update function or download it from our Download page.
Today we have released compatibility updates for DEVONnote, DEVONthink, EasyFind, and PhotoStickies that mainly fix compatibility issues on OS X 10.7 Lion. If you’re on Lion we highly recommend to install them.
If you are, like us, excited about the upcoming release of OS X 10.7 Lion then you will also like this news: We have just released version 2.2 of DEVONthink and DEVONnote which makes them fully compatible to Lion. Install this update and you don’t need fear the beast.
Today we have released the last public beta of DEVONagent 3.0 to the wild. We have added our new support assistant with one-click installs for plugins and scripts, a stand-alone menu extra similar to DEVONagent Express, and dozens of more new improvements and bug fixes. We also have updated DEVONthink and DEVONnote to version 2.1.1 with bug fixes e.g. for the Sorter. Definitely a recommended update for all of you using DEVONthink or DEVONnote!
Just a quick note that we have today submitted DEVONagent Express 3.0.1 to Apple with a number of bug fixes. Included are fixes for glitches in the user interface as well as for a bug that lets the app consume way to much CPU time when being used for a longer time.
As promised two days ago: We have more news this week. Today is the end of the DEVONacademy as we knew it. We have updated all tutorials, collected new scripts, templates, and plugins, moved all tips from my blog to a database, and integrated everything into an easy-to-use assistant that is now part of DEVONthink and DEVONnote, and soon also of DEVONagent. Today we have updated EasyFind to version 4.7.2 and XMenu to 1.9.3. We have added minor new functions, e.g. the possibility to drag search results with modifier keys pressed to the Finder to move, copy, or alias them. EasyFind also copes better with encodings and shows its name in Services menu entries. XMenu can be added to the startup items from its preferences, now, too.
