Today is macOS Mojave day. And while DEVONthink 2.10.1 is working fine on Apple’s latest incarnation of the Mac operating system, the new security measures do interfere with DEVONthink Pro Office’s Mail plugin. Mojave wants to know that you trust our plugin and have the intent to run it. To (re)enable the Mail plugin please follow these steps: … (mehr)
This leak, however, does not affect you as our customer. All documents are processed locally on your Mac by the ABBYY OCR engine. Your documents only leave your computer when you manually export or send them, or when you synchronize them to a remote location. (mehr)
Yesterday DEVONthink began to no longer launch for some people. The issue is related to an expired Apple provisioning profile and already hit many other applications earlier this year. Apple now provides profiles with a longer life period. This doesn’t do away with the problem forever but at least delays its next occurrence. (mehr)

A few days ago a critical bug named Heartbleed was discovered in OpenSSL, the software that makes connections to websites secure. The recent update of DEVONthink to version 2.7 unfortunately brought not only many improvements but also two cumbersome bugs: When the Sorter starts after logging in, e.g. after a system restart, DEVONthink itself opens instead of the Sorter. And if your Mac runs OS X 10.6.x or 10.7.x, DEVONthink is no longer visible to DEVONthink To Go on your Wi-Fi network. Sorry for these inconveniences. Expect a bugfix release shortly.
Amazon lists a book named “DEVONthink” by some Jesse Russell and Ronald Cohn. Don’t buy it! The book consists only of a collection of mostly unrelated Wikipedia articles and has absolutely nothing to do with our software. We have notified Amazon and the book-on-demand publisher about this issue and asked for the book to be withdrawn. (mehr)

Some people use TJ HD’s excellent Language Switcher to start applications with a localization different than the system’s default language. Unfortunately this only starts the app in the other localization but breaks proper localization support for internal but independent elements such as smart templates or AppleScript scripts. So if you are using Language Switcher and experience that some smart templates or scripts don’t work please use it without Language Switcher.
